Should be a movie! Immigration, the Mob, Prohibition, Hollywood, Vegas, Howard Hughes, Castro, Kennedy, CIA. and more...Rosselli’s life was interwoven through some of the biggest events of history from the 1920’s through the mid 1970’s. Fascinating!
Great book and great read, bravo Lee Server. This book is definitely a page turner, keeps you captivated. At times I couldn't put the book down. At the conclusion, I actually felt sorry for Johnny Rosselli. He was one helluva smart cookie, businessman, and strategist. His downfall was the Mob and our Government. The question is, whose scarier, our government or the mob? I would have to say their both on equal footing and neither can be trusted. In the end, that's what got Johnny Rosselli, the government and the mob. Two evils, CASE CLOSED.
...from about '45 until '63. During those years he was a combo of James Bond and Michael Corleone. Of course it ended--sadly and sickeningly. Server does a great job here, balancing top-notch research with a punchy prose style. The book Roselli deserved.
An interesting book. However it desperately needed an editor. The author goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the subject. He also seems to hate the government authority figures as much as he dislikes Roselli. With the facts the author obtained...too bad someone else didnn’t write the book.
